My 2012 List

Okay – there is quite some urgency with this page. If all the rumours are to be believed then there’s not much time left. (Oh look at me being all dramatic).

I have decided to avoid the 101/1001 Challenge and discard the New Year’s List for 2012. This time I am going to list all the things I really should do before that date.

Some say that the world will end on 21st December 2012. That doesn’t give me long (nor you for that matter, so don’t just sit there – panic stations). No, no – keep calm. I jest. It’s all light-hearted fun. I do hope to message you all on 22nd December – but just in case.

Here’s my TO DO LIST.

  • Plan my 2013 wedding – should the world end in December I will be happy in the knowledge that it was planned to be the best celebration on earth.
  • Send a message in a bottle.
  • Celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in London, in May 2012. 60 years on the throne! Go Liz!
  • Host a Eurovision Party.
  • Tidy my bedroom like the old days. My mum will be pleased. It’s about 15 years overdue.
  • Save up lots of money for our wedding. We’re talking LOTS. Oh oh oh… Curb my spending in other words.
  • Visit somewhere cultural in London – I mean museum-ish (and not just the shops).
  • Take time to sit and look at my World Atlas. I love Geography and need to remind myself that there are so many interesting places in the world.
  • Read more blogs from other people and share their greatness on ‘One Life by jamieonline’.
  • Post the QR code for my blog around some anonymous places and wait to see what happens.
  • Re-read some of my old diaries from 1993-1999 (my teen years) and share some of the ‘best-bits’ on my blog.
  • Cook more. By that I mean more than once every 3 months. Try new recipes and bake something for Bas.
  • Read that ‘classic’ book that I keep talking about. I have a shelf full of Charles Dickens books from the early 1900s. I should open one and enjoy…
  • Write a poem.
  • Copy the poem and leave it for someone to find. (I could take a picture of them finding it – however that may be a little too stalker-ish).
  • Write the letter to Santa that I forgot to do last year. Tut tut. Although, should the world end I would hope that Santa had thought ahead and visited a few days earlier.
  • Start tennis lessons and play lots of tennis with Bas in France during the summer break.
  • Try something daring (ooooh, that’s an open-ended task).
  • More to come…
